The UN Volunteer Programme for Finnish nationals is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland and implemented by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. This initiative provides professionals with the opportunity to offer their services to developing countries for a 12 to 36-month period, and to impact on development results on the ground. Participants share their knowledge and skills, broaden peer networks and gain international exposure and experience within the United Nations system.
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. In 2016, UNV deployed 6,590 UN Volunteers in 126 countries.
